Ivan Wang
Cellist Ivan Wang is currently pursuing his Master's in Cello Performance at Rice University's Shepherd School of Music with Valentin Radutiu. He currently substitutes with the Houston Symphony and has served as the principal cellist of the Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra. Recent appearances Ivan has made include performing in Carnegie Hall with the New York String Orchestra Seminar under the baton of Jaime Laredo. He also competed as a quarter-finalist in the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. As an avid chamber musician, Ivan has attended the Madeline Island Chamber Music Fellowship String Quartet program for the past two summers. Ivan's interview and performance have also been featured on NPR’s From the Top.
